| Introduction |

| Passport Office, Bhubaneswar was set up in 1979 to provide passport service to the people residing in Orissa. It caters to 30 districts. With the functioning of the office, thousands of people of the state have been able to obtain passport to go abroad for employment, studies, business, attending meetings, seminars, sports, medical treatments etc. The number of passport seekers have grown steadily to 50,000 in the year 2010 from few hundreds in 1979.
